better sliding stops
My three year old is sliding about 4-6 feet and I'm backing him up after the stop, driving him forward into the bridle, bending him to the left and right while walking a circle but,He slides with all four legs and sometimes three. He slides with his front legs while sliding with the back.I've tried driving him in the rundown,so he uses his hindquarters more and also picking up on the reins, straight up to stop him so he puts more weight on his hind end to keep his front light but still having trouble. Thanks |

Re: better sliding stops
Regular shoes and didn't file down the nails heads so, you would think it would cause some drag and help out my problem. |

Re: better sliding stops
You need to go to a square toe shoe. Help that horse break over and get his front feet out of the way. You could also wedge him up in front with the square toed shoes on. This will help the break over. Use a 2 degree wedge. |
