wiggly steering, over steer
I feel my colt is doing pretty good. I'm getting alot of positives. I have him dragging his head on the ground. When I ask for a little left or a little right he is over steering. He will turn 90 or 180 degrees. Sometimes he will loose the forward momemtum and start to cross over into a spin. I guess I could have worse problems. It just seems like we dart off in every direction. I feel him dropping his shoulders and just darting right or left. |

Re: wiggly steering, over steer
Sounds like you are going to need to get more face thus giving you more shoulder control. Even though the horses head is down that will not mean you have control of his face. YOu need to teach him that he needs to control his or her shoulders and not to try to overachice so much. It will take a little while but eventually your horse will get it. These types of horses can tend to be more difficult. He needs to know that he needs to bend a little or give a little more body position before he starts turning. Dean Brown |
