feet
I have a horse with navicular disease in his feet. Is there anything I change i n his training to accomidate his sore feet? When I work him outside he comes up lame. Can I build up some muscles in his feet to prevent the lameness? |

Re: feet
I would say no and using the horse for reining would only aggrivate. I would think of retiring him. He might make good lesson horse for someone starting out if hes good. If you love this horse I say retire him and get another reiner or prospect. |

Re: feet
Reinerchamp, How old is the horse? Allot of times with some correct shoeing you might be able to get past your problem. If this is a older horse and this has been set in for a long time then your options are few. But with the right padding and shoeing again you may be able to make him more comfortable. On this question Allot will depend on you horses Age. And how long your horse has been diagnosed with this problem. Dean Brown |
