I ran across an article last night in a 1981 "Treasure Found". They used metal detectors after WWI to locate mines and shells to clear the fields for the farmers. They found an article in a 1917 "Electrical Experimenter" describing how it worked. They also had a detector to detect counterfeit coins by the coins conductivity of the metal in 1917. |
