There have been a great deal of hunts on the east coast as you say. However, we have traveled throughout the country. Idaho, Arizona, Nevada, Louisiana, Florida, Missouri, Ohio just to name the ones I have attended. Most of those hunts were attended by "east coasters" with a few of the locals. Our main hunter base is east of the Mississippi so that is why a lot of the events are on the east side of the USA. We try to spread them around to catch everyone, all our clubs and Independents. That is why we were trying Antlers. You saw what happened. Under 10 entries 5 weeks before the event. You just can't justify spending large amounts of FMDAC money for 8 or 9 entries hoping that some "walk on's" will show up.
Maybe the economy will rebound and we can persue events all over. If any of you folks out there have any ideas that will help us put on an event in your area please feel free to contact anyone on the board. As a footnote the survey in the last Quest received very few responses. I am running it again in the next Quest (coming out soon) so please jot down your ideas and send them in. Remember, this IS YOUR ORGANIZATION so your input is greatly appreciated.
