Ed, it's my opinion that you don't see more people attending these events because not everybody has the ability to pick up and travel at will, or if they do, they can't afford the expense.
I have also heard the comment that the manufacturers don't attend anymore because all they see are the same faces at these events.
Given the price of gas, lodging, hunt fees, meals, etc... it's just very difficult to justify it anymore.
